    on where you looked.

I was out Black Friday. It was not nearly as crazy as other years, EXCEPT for Best Buy, WalMart, and ToysRUs (and even they weren't as bad as I've seen them before).

I was also out Saturday, and there weren't many people out at all, not for a holiday weekend.

Plus people were VERY selective - I saw lots of things not sold out that in previous years would have been gone in an hour.

Of course the retailers are going to say it was great - that's what they always say. The numbers will tell the tale, and they're not in yet.

    •  no, numbers ARE in. They are up. (2+ / 0-)

But it would be interesting to see a breakdown by battleground state, etc that's not anecdotal.

they might be up - but a lot of people bought just about all they're going to buy that ONE DAY.

My bet is that the overall seasonal numbers will be down. And they'll be down most at WalMart.
