  •  Check your statistics (0+ / 0-)

Its 47m uninsured PERSONS, not Americans.

      trollrating abilities.

Although I'm surprised you were willing to label undocumented immigrants as "persons".  That's farther than the candidates went last night, except when Huck was talking about the children of "illegals".

      •  Really? (0+ / 0-)

So undocumented immigrants, student's with visas, green card holders and Canadians spending the winter are all Americans?

And for pointing out the simple statistical truth is trollworthy? Would it be equally trollworthy to wonder why you are so interested in perpetuating such an obvious error?

        •  I'll explain its trollworthiness with a quote: (1+ / 0-)

Better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer.

          William Blackstone.

I suppose you'd prefer to deny 40 million Americans coverage, as long as it would prevent 7 million dirty brown people from getting it too, right?

That's why I found it trollworthy.  Its a republican talking point "a few 'illegals' may get it, so in order to prevent that NO ONE gets it!!!".

          •  Bullshit (0+ / 0-)

Get over your hate, PJ. I never made any of the remarks that you are subscribing to me.

And it is not a repub talking point, it is a fact (Hello, reality based!). Read the census report, it clearly states how many "persons" are without insurance and how many of those are non-citizen. It does not state that 47 million Americans are without insurance, it states 47 million persons, more than 10 million of whom are non-citizen.

Sorry to introduce an actual fact into your diatribe, but please keep your racist hate speech to yourself.

not be true, the rest of your post comes straight from the republican bizarro world.

I indicate that I want everyone insured, regardless of whether they are legally in this country, and you respond by calling my claim for universal health coverage "racist hate speech".

              Nice.

              •  No... (0+ / 0-)

You stated that there are 47m uninsured Americans, which is untrue. I pointed out the error and you responded with insults.

And the figure is true, look it up, it is widely available.

                •  The point is your figure is frickin pointless. (0+ / 0-)

It doesn't matter if some non-citizens will get benefits.

Let me give you an example:

                  Who pays for the police?

                  Your tax dollars.

What happens when a person on vacation from Spain is beaten and robbed in your neighborhood?

He calls the police and uses their resources, which are paid for with your tax dollars.

Bam! A foreigner has just spent your tax dollars.

So what should we do to prevent foreigners from taking advantage of the services we pay for as citizens?

Get rid of all police, and close down all police stations?

                  No.

And you don't go around figuring out statistics of how many illegal aliens will get to take advantage of your tax dollars, either, because it doesn't matter.  You're going to have police no matter whether "illegals" are going to use them, or not.

                  You just live with it.

That's why your figure is pointless.

                  •  No again. (0+ / 0-)

The point of my figure was that it was accurate. Your figure was inaccurate. Pretty simple.

                    •  OK, great. You win. (0+ / 0-)

If you ever get really sick and your insurance coverage is denied, you can always comfort yourself by knowing that, while you're dying and can't afford the care required to save your life, at least you memorized that statistic.

        •  Well, (0+ / 0-)
there are certainly far more than 47 million PERSONS (people?) without medical insurance.

From another point of view, most of the undocumented immigrants and all of the Canadians are Americans.

Where is the line drawn? Are you using American to mean only US citizens? Permanent legal residents don't count? Immigrants on the path to citizenship don't count?

People who show up at emergency rooms in the US needing care, but without the insurance to cover seems like a valid population to look at to me.
