she doesn't think that anything will happen to the guilty parties unless the story gets wide exposure.

it's difficult to argue with that given the lack of accountability so far.

If she let it all hang out on YouTube widely publicized in advance by Glenn Greenwald(Salon), Josh Marshall (TPM) Juan Cole, Daily Kos, Atrios and many others, her story would receive wide exposure and migrate to the MM - Keith Olbermann and many others. They would be far less worried about violating national security since they're simply reporting on a story already out on the net.

what if the blogs don't mention the story?

I don't think atrios or Greenwald has mentioned the case yet. nor juan cole. i don't think

I think Josh has mentioned it in passing only a couple of times.

      •  . . . and, what if . . . (0+ / 0-)

YouTube was instructed to take it down as soon as it was discovered by anyone named who has the clout to do it?  They have removed videos before, IIRC.

I don't think that posting the entire story like that is any kind of guarantee it will receive the exposure it deserves.

Your suggestion happens all the time to important stories that never get any attention, including the Downing Street Memoes, that were headline stories in the top British Newspapers, television and media.  American media barely took notice, and that was long after the story was practically over in the UK and because bloggers went bonkers.  But the US media did not treat it as a serious story.

The notion that she just has to get on YouTube or some blog, when her case has already been brought to the highest court in the country, without apparently getting much attention, is just wishful thinking.
