This Jack Bauer Jr. guy is nothing but a shill for the CIA. The admission of torture is really a non-story. Even the most strident Bush koolaid drinker knows it happened. Now they need to justify it with "yeah it's torture, but it did work". The safe at any cost, don't care how, ends justify the means crowd will eat this shit up.

    Just another day in Oceania.

And the disdain with which this CIA guy talks about non-torture techniques as requiring a lot of time, tells me he may not have even tried the non-torture route.....

That is the crux of the reliability angle:  would interrogation valid under the Geneva Convention have worked?  This guy says that members of Al Qaeda were tougher than the Nazis, including Herman Goering, whom were successfully interrogated without the use of torture.  This guy never met, let alone interrogated, a Nazi.  How would he know if members of al Qaeda were roughter than the Nazis?...I say bullshit.  His opinion shows the conceit of self--of discounting history in favor of the present--and a belief in how important and unprecedented the present is.....

They never even tried the old-fashioned, non-torture way of obtaining information.....And specific authorization for each turn of the screw all came--in advance--straight from the top....

    •  Outrageous spin, that's (0+ / 0-)

      all it is.
