The folks over at HateState just had a collective brain implosion that Kos would even suggest that Catholics have a "natural allegiance to the Democratic Party."

(Warning:  it's more of the same - "Don't vote for baby-killer Kerry, vote for lying war-criminal Bush!" argument).  They're really getting shrill (probably a good sign for our side).

Anyway, my point here. . . isn't it a little bizarre that the same people who are rabidly anti-choice are the same people who oppose providing healthcare for children who need it here and now?

Essentially:  no one should be able to have abortions, and when children can't get medical care because they lack coverage, they should die, because we do not engage in Communism here in Red 'Merica!

    oy.

Yeah, an embyro is soooo precious it must be protected at all costs but once it turns into a child or <gasp> an adult, it's trash if it can't take care of itself for some reason.

means you care about health care for kids, about the environment (physical and emotional) in which they grow up, about quality education; and, then about a living wage when they start their own families. Pro-life means advocating health care and other programs for the elderly. Anything else is just "Pro-Birth."..and nothing more.
