    I wonder how much of those stories key on the muslim connection - and ignore comparable crimes by 'Christian' parents against their own kids based on 'Christian' values? The 'Christian' connection is ignored because it's taken as a given and is therefore invisible to most observers in the media.

      Muslim world right at this particular point in time because a higher percentage of the Muslim world is dominated by really fundamentalist strains of thought right now.

      But, of course, Judaism has almost-never-enforced rules that tell us to stone adulterers, and one of the novels we all read as kids, "The Scarlet Letter," is about a less-than-enlightened Christian response to adultery.
