    Roosevelt had bold ideas and smart, competent people in his administration to enact them.  He changed the fundemental definition of the Federal government and it's role in the economy.

    There may well be an historic opportunity in 2008 to re-envigorate our government to face serious challenges of climate change, new international economic structures and East/West/1st World/3rd World ideological friction.  But, it's going to take a bold political fight of ideas between Progressives and those that would hobble working Americans in favor of their business interests to capitalize on that opportunity.

    More of the same -- or small, "incremental" ideas ain't gonna do it.

    And demographic changes guarantee nothing.
