  •  The Common Good Vision (0+ / 0-)

I very much appreciated your piece, DH!  Things are looking better for progressives, even tho we do not have a clear vision for America.  We're currently making great gains as the "anti-Republican alternative".

Imagine if Progressives had a positive vision for America!  Well, I'd like to propose a Progressive Vision, as a response to the thirty year-old right wing mantra of "god, guns and gays", or "privitization is best".

Progressives see value in good govt, in protecting: civil liberties; the environment; social and economic safety net etc. ALL of these items are shared in common by ALL Americans.  Conservatives cast aside these common needs, while focusing only on the private market place.

FDR focussed on the Common Good, accentuating the positive role that good govt can play.  I suggest we develop a 21st Century version of The Common Good, and contrast this to the notion of Privitization, or Private Greed.
