    whether it really was as big a win as Chris Dodd says, but I don't care.  It was something that he lead, in which I had a small part, and that ended, at least temporarily, the way I wanted.  So as long as he keeps at it, I will too.

      Then it served some greater purpose for us. And if we think of how many here and elsewhere had become dispirited of late as to whether we could accomplish anything in opposition to the bush administration, then it also serves to remind us that change takes time, willingness and a fervent desire to make such endeavors a reality.

      Probably Senator Dodd knows better than we the obstacles that he faced. That he was willing to endure the process without any guarantees, and with only the support of a handful of Senators, and a determined small group of the public (us) speaks volumes to me no matter what the eventual outcome of the FISA legislation might be.

      Our nation, our people, and our Constitution deserve and demand no less of us.
