    For $2 per watt, I could spend about $2500 and have solar electricity to run my entire house.  We have net metering here, and I average a little over 1 kw/day consumption (year-round average).

    (That puts my ROI at around 3 years.  Well worth it, every penny.  Won't handle heating, but that's okay; it would be a big start, esp. if I had a plug-in Prius to reverse flow at night.)
