that Kongress convene a new Constitutional Convention as they are required to do under Article V of the Constitution.

Once a new convention has been convened it is empowered to propose amendments to the Constitution, one of which surely needs to be an amendment that enjoins corporations from engaging in any kind of political activity.

Kongress will never propose an amendment like this so Article V is the only peaceful way to get such an amendment before the people for ratification.

Go here to learn more about how this process is supposed to work.

    •  If we don't break up the elites' (3+ / 0-)

control of the media, such a convention would end up ratifying only those provisions that serve the elites. How could it possibly be otherwise?

What we need to do about the Constitution at this point is to use "right to petition for the redress of grievances" provision of the 1st Amendment.

Until we break the corporate virtual monopoly on what we hear and see, we keep losing, don't matter what we do.

      •  The convention only proposes amendments, it (0+ / 0-)

        does not ratify anything.

That is done by the normal method ( 3/4th of the states )

It is true that special interests will try and direct the course of the convention but the quicker we act to force one the less organized will be that effort.

Besides Special Interests don't want to change the Constitution any way.

They like the way this one doesn't work just fine.

The purpose of putting Article V in the Constitution was to provide a path by which the people could always re-assert control over their government.

We need to that now before it is too late.

Otherwise there will be no peaceful way to change it.
