  •  Multiple-choice Mitt (8+ / 0-)

I love that nickname, it perfectly captures the guy. Never know who he is from decade to decade.

Heck, if he gets elected, it might not even be so bad. He's a kinda conservative now, maybe in the 2010s he'd revert or reinvent to a faux lib?

Then again, he could just go deeper into the wingnut/asshat jungle of ridiculousness.

I'm with the Union Leader (and when's the last time I could say that with a straight face? try, like, never?)

    •  Double backward flip-flopper with a twist. (12+ / 0-)

If John Kerry was a flip-flopper, Multiple-choice Mitt is a double backward flip-flopper with a twist, which has a very high degree of difficulty according to international scoring criteria.

Willard was on Hannity last night. Hannity is taking vacation, and little Alan Colmes batted Willard around easily.

I voted for Gore in 2000, but I remember thinking that perhaps W wouldn't be so conservative once he got in office. Remember that whole "compassionate conservative" spin, and how he wasn't a hard core neocon like his Dad or Reagan? A (laughable now) regular guy you'd like to have a beer with? For me that lasted until one month in office when W pulled out of Kyoto and a few other treaties (I think land mines was one). If only I had read Molly Ivin's book "Shrub" - boy did she ever predict what we got with W before he was elected..

As such, I could never give the benefit of the doubt to Romney or, really, any Republican again.  They have made their deal with the Devil, trying to hold together the Christopaths, Neocons, Wealthy, and the Bigots.  The more they fragment and/or in-fight over their "non-genuine" candidates, the better.

      •  I didn't like Gore in 2000 (0+ / 0-)

I really didn't like Lieberman-his precense alone made me unable to vote for the ticket.  My main issue was their cultural warrior/censorship tendencies (Lieberman was bitching about video games even then, and Gore's wife was the lead on the attempt to censor rock music in the 1980's that lead to the Parental Advisory stickers).  I thought Nader was a moron.  I thought Bush would be fairly harmless, like his father was (Bush Senior never really had any hard core political beliefs-he just liked the trappings of being President)-but I don't vote for Republicans on general principle.

So I voted for the Libertarian, Harry Browne.  Not that my California vote counted for anything.  If it had, I would have held my nose and voted for Gore.

Mitt is nothing but the output of a high powered marketing division of a business busily tailoring the end product for one thing only - marketing appeal.  He will become whatever is needed to maximize sales.
