If you clicked the link, you'd note that it's "The Trail"... a Diary.

A Diary DOES NOT = AP

The blog post isn't an opinion, it's reporting the press' reaction to Hillary's visit.

For some reason I was thinking that this was an "objective" "news" site like the New York "Times" -- now that I know it's for political "opinion" and therefore "biased" I can do a better job understanding it.

Right now CNN is discussing these caucuses like it's a game of Risk, with Edwards supporters physically blockading the Biden supporters.

Actually kind of fun. Russert on MSNBC made me puke.

He's so fat, so ugly, and so awful.

I'm a lifelong Democrat, and I support Johnny Reid Edwards!

...it is, but I must say what I find odd about the blog is that it contradicts what we seem to take for granted on this board -- Hillary has been anointed as the front runner and inevitable nominee by the punditocracy.  If this blog is accurate some (most? all?) of the working stiffs in the press can't stand her.

I'm surprised at the level of hostility this blog post describes between Hillary and the press.  I'll vote for Hillary if she gets the nomination, but she's not my candidate.

That said, I think that, to the extent any public figure is entitled to give a one-fingered salute to the fourth estate, Hillary Clinton is, given the non-stop onslaught of criticism she's taken since 1992.  She couldn't win for losing with these clowns -- "stand by your man," cold, calculating, scheming, closed circle of advisers on health care, and on and on.  She was even ridiculed for pointing out what was self-evident to anyone who read a paper every morning -- a right-wing conspiracy had formed a lynch mob to get her husband.

My argument was that in trying to flog the "Obama was smeared!" meme, you are conflating the Washington Post to an opinion site on the internet.

There is no "hypocrisy" in Kos going after the Obama quotes: this is a website, based on opinion and analysis. It is not hypocritical to rip the "regular" press for this. This is what Kos does.

There was a time when the expectations of the news media were quitre different.

"Analytical" news coverage, as opposed to standard journalism, has become the norm in the past decade. I recommend getting your hands on a video called "The Unelected: The Media", by Hedrick Smith. It addresses a lot of what Kos is complaining about--the substitution of analysis for actual reporting.
