    But the case you've just made?

    Either Edwards isn't spending enough to win, or doesn't have enough to spend to win.

    That sucks.  But it's pretty damning.  Why not?  And, flip side... if there's just not enough, then no matter how good Edwards is (and he's a very close second for me), he's not going to win.

    The race is not always to the strongest.... Or in more Darwinian terms, fitness is a composite thing.  Being biggest, strongest, best, sharpest eyed... Neolithic hunter won't serve well if one's hemophiliac.  That small cut can--will, probably--still be fatal, even though one might have otherwise been best of all.

    But back to Edwards.  Unless the argument is that his campaign is NOT spending enough, then the fault lies with supporters--they haven't given enough. That's not fair, not right, and all the rest.  But it's the way that politics is "played" here and now....
