    it's hard to know which ones, though. The result in PA is that judges are almost always retained.

      Just consult your local bar associations. They publish their recommendations every judicial retention election. Here's an example.

      Newspaper editorial boards make some strange decisions concerning judicial retention. It's better to listen to the lawyers -- especially when bar associations with different agendas come to the same conclusions.
