Is there were a lot of people who suddenly jumped on the Ron Paul bandwagon solely because of his positions on the Iraq war.

They like to point out many of his other problems.

But yeah, I don't see the point in wasting so much time over him.  He's a bigger threat to the GOP than to us.

...ones that are fairly explicit in those positions.

Kucinich and Richardson have 100% against.

Hillary refuses to apologize for her Iraq war vote.

Edwards says he regrets voting for it, but he was a co-sponsor of the Iraq war resolution in 2002.

Obama appears to have solid anti-war credentials.

If the Democrats nominate a PEACE candidate, RP becomes a non-issue (if he goes 3rd party).

was not encouraging to me, and as Gibson pointed out it sounds an awful lot like the Bush doctrine.

As a side note, Paul just said on Leno that Kucinich is his favorite Dem candidate. And Kucinich has done the same thing, naming Paul as his favorite Republican:

I find this interesting, and if indeed they have mutual respect as they state, you could potentially have a Paul/Kucinich 3rd party ticket.

        Pure speculation of course.

      •  Did Richardson apologize? (0+ / 0-)

If he did, I missed it.

"I supported President Bush's decision to go to war in Iraq, without a new resolution from the UN, because I was persuaded that Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction posed a threat to the United States and our interests in the world...At this point...we must see this mission through."

With the only Dem candidates  opposing the DrugWar being even more agressively marginalized by Dems than Paul by the Republicans, it should be no suprise he's attracting them.

A lot of the folks who "friended" my Myspace campaign page from my Primary run v Herb Kohl last year list Paul, Kucinich and/or Gravel on their "top friends."
