    As you say, this result matches the 2004 Kerry-Dean outcome very closely.  Here's another analysis that reaches the same conclusion, with a town-by-town map of the results.

    Portsmouth is another upscale small city that went for Obama, very different from its neighboring cities of Dover and Rochester.  All are Democratic, but the latter two are old mill towns.

      Dover is where the people that work in Portsmouth live.

      Rochester is where the people that work in Dover live.

        Though I lived in Portsmouth and worked in Dover.  Driving opposite the traffic is a good thing.

        Quite a few of my colleagues split the Dover-Rochester difference and lived in Somersworth.
