    That's how people vote, as individuals. But there's also merit to looking at them as groups, and looking at how different groups voted to try to see whether there are patterns. That way, you can sit around and speculate on why one candidate's message might resonate better with Group X, while Group Y tends to go with another candidate.

    Of course, as individuals, most people are going to vote for a candidate because they feel that person is the best choice. But when there are wide disparities in demographics -- say, lower income folks going one way, higher income folks another -- or people who decided a month ago one way, and people who decided yesterday another -- that is, at least to some of us, a worthy thing to try to figure out.
