    NO president is going to treat our own government as criminal, and if you're waiting for that, you may as well wait for Godot instead.

    The best we can hope for is a president who will strengthen the UN and strengthen international diplomacy, and lay the groundwork so this sort of idiocy can't happen AGAIN for a while.  And honestly, I think any of the Democrats will do that.  I trust Obama somewhat more than Clinton or Edwards in that regard, but I'm not going to shun the good because I demand the perfect.

      down the throat of our candidate during the debates.

      For them the answer is clear: "Screw the United Nations"

      Related issue. I believe Senator Robert Byrd was right and the Iraqi AUMF was inherently unconstitutional as n illegal delegation of war-making power to the Executive.

      This issue stretches back at least to the Gulf of Tonkin resolution.

      I agree 100% this is a minefield for our POTUS candidates however

      If WE are to build a true people powered politics WE cannot ignore these questions.
