  •  I think there's a play on word "worth" (6+ / 0-)

    Worth doesn't just mean financial.  You yourself in the same comment delineated the pay-rate definition of "worth" and the dignity definition of "worth".

    I work in a small company which pays me decently enough but which I like because it seems to value my "worth".

    I have worked in other companies which paid comparably but treated me as "worthless".

    See the play?  See the emphasis on value?

    Fellow small business owners and employees are pretty paranoid, because often they forget that politicians are mainly addressing businesses which are thousands of times larger and the power comparison is just silly.

    Owning a small business is absolutely unrelated to being in charge of these corporations which are vaster than most countries.
