but we can't do that by running to Canada, Mexico or Europe.

The fight is here, therefore we must be here to be a part of it.

looking for a better life.  I'm not opposed to leaving this country for the same reason.

It would be good to know taxes I paid went to making life better for people rather than arming and shooting them.

the third eye does not weep. it knows.

leaving, its a decision thats best for some, and not for others. I couldn't imagine a better life and a better opportunity than what this country has been and can be. It certainly won't be if we don't fight for it. I don't want to have to learn another langugage (b/c completely fluent I mean), how to count another currency, find a new job or adapt to a different lifestyle.

The United States is my home. Just b/c some assholes are trying to ruin it doesn't kill how special it is for me.

      national anthem better than ours.

I remember an episode of the old show "Riptide," wherein it's revealed that a couple of Our Heroes were once in the Army. Having caught an Army officer doing something underhanded, one of them says, "You make me ashamed to have worn the uniform, and I didn't think anything could make me say that."

Since my first visit to Europe as a child, I have tried my best not to be the Ugly American during my travels (or here at home, for that matter.) Despite my  Republican friends' insistence that the Clenis(TM) is the source of all evil in the universe, I have never felt ashamed to be an American--until Chimpco got going in earnest. I tell those selfsame Republican friends, "I'm grieving for my country," and they all think I'm off my rocker, deranged by irrational hatred of Dear Leader and spouting LIBBURUL talking points. If and when the scales fall from their eyes, it'll be far too late for all of us and I won't even have the consolation of "I told you so."

Living outside of the U.S. does not mean you abandon it.  My "Americanness" is on display daily because I live amongst others.  Nulwee wants a different way of life and should not feel obligated to go without healthcare or be unhappy in life in order to fight 24/7.

The internet and phone make a lot possible, living abroad does not mean being a political coward.
