  •  Kevv, I'm with you (9+ / 0-)

having lost more friends than I could keep count of, a partner, and barely surviving myself.
Randy Stilts "And The Band Played On" comes to mind.

Using Reagan so cynically, or worse, sincerely, is disgusting to me.

I used to be wary of populism, but now I'm a pitchfork carrying populist.  It's the "Popularists" I fear now.

I was volunteering at a GLBT center in Orange County, educating people about HIV and AIDS and volunteering during their free testing, it was so misunderstood then in the early nineties, no thanks to Reagan of course.

The more people say you shouldn't be angry about the comment the angrier I think people will be.  I don't think he was comparing himself to Reagan, but he gives Bill Clinton very little credit for being on of the best Presidents I remember (I was 9 when Reagan came to office, should explain it all).

I'm sorry you've lost so many loved ones, I've been so lucky to have not lost anyone personally but I am painfully aware of it's effect on the GLBT community.  And as a woman, I'm appalled that so many don't realize how many women between the age of 18-24 contract the virus.
