    I'm not great with freshwater snails, so I didn't know the species of the top photo, so thanks for that.

    There are actually two common atlantic whelks. You correctly identified B. carica, which is called the Knobbed Whelk to differentiate it from B. canaliculatum, which is the Channeled Whelk. I believe it is this second species in the radiograph.
