    In my experience most of the admins are fair minded.

      Frankly having ratings privileges in the primary season is a huge distraction, and having gotten and kept TU status for the past few weeks made it even more so. It's both hugely entertaining to read through all the ridiculous troll comments and it feels like an actual responsibility to help moderate the site. Between those factors is an increasing amount of time spent here, and that's aside from actually participating in the discussion which I have done a whole lot more of since the primary season started.

      Obama is finally ramping his campaign up here in VA, and as far as spending time doing politics I think I'd rather hit the streets and the phones than spend hours on dKos where there are the fewest people still left to be convinced of anything.

      I'm totally not interested at this point in petitioning the admins to review my status, but a lot of good mods got caught in this one because the comment in question was not really trollish. If anything happens, everyone who got zapped on that comment should get their ratings back, and that might actually make a difference here that one or two people would not.

      Otherwise I'll wait for the primaries to be over and in my more limited time here find other ways to contribute to the discussion. If Kos doesn't restore ratings after the primary season as promised, though, he can say "hi" to my next username. I've actually been here longer than this account, but my previous account had a geographic designation in the title where I don't live right now. I was never banned, but locked the password on the account, and would only use it again if I moved back where I had been. Linking the two might make it too easy for some people to find out who I am IRL, so I started over. At some point I will pick a username which has no geographic designation at all; that might be sooner rather than later if this username stays crippled.

      Apparently redhaze has also lost ratings, probably for troll-rating Cream City's original bullshit comment with the Nazi analogy and several sentences trashing the whole site and saying nobody would take us seriously.

      I have no idea who did this, but this is the biggest abuse by an administrator I have ever seen on this site. I am taking dKos less seriously now not because bullshit like what Cream City posts gets challenged, but because the admins are out of control.

        Elise made a comment showing all the times the admins have said that people are full of shit, but they deleted the comments for that diary.

      •  That just about says it all, doesn't it? (0+ / 0-)

        Nazi comments = okay
        blackface = okay
        "full of shit" = not okay

        Unless of course, you're an admin... because just today 2 of them were telling a long time user they were full of it in a diary they'd written! The hypocrisy is staggering. Ratings don't mean anything anymore.

        Taking dkos less seriously? You've got that right.
