  •  It's an ego thing (12+ / 0-)

If MY candidate doesn't win, I'm picking up my marbles and going home.  Forget about what's best for the many, I'm the only one who's important.

    •  The interesting part is that those who are (5+ / 0-)

projecting their own shadow onto Hillary have to be loud and intrusive even while being told they have already had their opportunity to bash Hillary several times so please go away.  Of course, they are not able to do that because then they would have to tolerate their own negativity instead of continuing to try to project it on to Hillary.  I am on both Hillary's and Edward's mailing lists and I have not gotten a single negative email from either of them about Obama.  But here, I am inundated by Hillary bashing on the part of Obama supporters.  Apparently they don't realize how transparent they all are.

....that Edwards, Clinton, and Obama aren't THAT far apart, ideologically.

...that might stay home for a slightly different reason. They expect that any of the Democrats would win. They think the state of the nation is such that this year is an opportunity for a major shift in politics and it's being wasted due to candidates running to the right of the Democratic base. And they don't want to reward that with an tidal wave of support.

As for me, all the scenarios that spring to mind that would keep me home on election day seem awfully far-fetched.
