    because of his stance on immigration. I think McCain would not be the toughest opponent in the General. As we can pick apart his senate voting record as well as he is looking older, with little energy, and a lot of people who might vote Republican do not like his stance on immigration and other issues.

    Fundies may stay home if he is the candidate, too as they cannot stand him.

      is dependent on our nominee.  If its Hillary the fundies vote in droves becuase they think she is the anti-christ.  

      Also McCain's ability to do well or atleast OK among indies will complicate swing states.  The goal has to be driving up D numbers not merely hoping we are closer to the center.
