    problem i had was stiiring the members themselves. By the time i was put in charge at our local, there were only a few "old timers" that experienced the bad old days first hand. The new crop of "kids" couldn't grasp our true strength, them. More correctly, them walking a picket line, witholding their labor. Fortunately for all of us, I could usually roust enough of them to "walk the line" to convince a contractor to sign an agreement.
    If a leader "sells out" the membership will chuck them pretty quickly. But if the members don't hold together, the chain is broken.
