    Good point. There is strong evidence that this food stamp/farm subsidy political trade is still very important. Very difficult to break this as long as food stamps remain in the Farm Bill. Part of my point is that the commodity subsidies really benefit primarily land owners, big farmers, and agribusinesses. Most people even in the so-called 'farm States' would be better off with the money going into agri-environmental and rural development programs in their States.
