All progressives basically know how Bush got away with it... Corporate media (owned by a few billionaires but with an infinitely greater audience than the blogs) gave Bush a free pass to wreck the Constitution.

Almost all progressives also pretend that there's nothing we can do about it. We play media whack-a-mole with criticism of O'Reilly and Chris Matthews and pretend that the corporate media can't be broken up into smaller pieces and de-politicized by law.

"It would violate the First Amendment!"

But it wouldn't. There are still hundreds of lawson the books regulating media ownership in specific markets. There is no difference in principle involved in requiring that no news outlet can be owned by a larger corporate entity.

Until the media giants are broken into smaller pieces, their enormous voices will overwhelm everything we say on the blogs, and we all know it.

So we aren't exactly "low-information voters." We're just pretending not to know what has to be done.

Kill me before I have to think again!
