  •  Janet, I remember when I 1st read it............ (7+ / 0-)

I went into a 2 week depressed funk. It was hard to imagine a whole collection of otherwise smart people giving themselves over to such Anti-Americanism, and calling it anything but corrupt.

Just for starters....... the Revolutionary War was fought to get rid of that eras Globalism/East India Company and the Imperial rule/King George III. And make sure all were administered to, under rule of law that was administered equally/without fear or favor.

PNACers/Friedman addicts turn the values of American ideals on its head and farts Christmas carrolls out its behind.

It is the same ole 'might is right' power shift to the wealthy corrupt ideology that plagues mankind's lower natures. And anyone claiming to follow this 'I got mine, screw you' ideology, and also tries to claim Christianity, needs a few less holes in their head.

or to open up the rather closed coffers and spread some of that globalism's wealth and power into other classes?  More like a reform of globalism rather than a revolution to get rid of it.  They weren't saying "don't create empire" they the empire rather than the giving end??  You know, all my life this is what i've heard, and still, I'm never sure about this.

      •  I have been reading (0+ / 0-)

Oceana, by Harrington.  It was written hundreds of years ago, but it really gets down to basics.  It says there should be only one party, a democratic party.  There should not be a party of the wealthy, set up to make the rich richer and the poor poorer.  That ruins a country, he says.  He says wealthy people owning vast amounts of profit- generating land ruins a country.  He seems to say extreme wealth should be prohibited, or the wealthy will ruin the country.
