  •  Are you talking to me? [/de niro] (0+ / 0-)

It's charming that you think that pulling even more money out of people's pockets to go to the pols' cronies somehow "stimulates" the economy, but also totally irrational.

What's less charming is you declaring youself an authority on what I think.  Based on what, exactly?  Bush's tax cuts, aka the windfall for the very wealthiest, haven't stimulated the economy either.  If anyone gets a significant tax cut I think it should be the middle classes and below, because they'll spend the money at home.  (That's a vast simplification of my opinion, but will suffice for this conversation.)

AFA the environment, has it ever occured to you that the Federal government has established a track record of royally screwing up every job handed to it, and then refusing to relinquish the authority?

Has it occurred to you that when the private sector takes over any entity that provides a service, suddenly the primary purpose of that entity is to make a profit for itself and its stockholders?  For example, I don't want a health care industry that's in business to make money, I want one that's in business to provide health care.  If the only way to do that is for the government to administer it, so be it.

Oh, and the people who lived through the Great Depression would probably disagree with your condemnation of the Federal government and its programs.

Think hard on this one; you have exactly one chance to get it right.

I don't know what you mean by this.  Are you implying that depending on the way this election goes, democracy -- or the world -- may come to an end?  Because unless one of those things happens, I (and everyone else) will have another chance to get it right, and another and another, every four years.

Of course, if you're just trying to be a condescending ass, then knock yourself out.

Our troops won the war. Bush lost the peace.
