I'm just wondering if this is redundant and blurring the important issue of immunity.  These folks all take oaths to protect the Constitution and they are all failing that.  I don't understand the need for an amendment stating that they should do what they are already supposed to do.

I will be the first to admit that I am a cynic.  A BIG cynic.  This is really making my radar go off big time.  I see all the "amendments" being passed and the compromise being immunity.  So, in essence, we gain absolutely nothing but it appears as if something has been gained.  I feel like I need to say "mark my words".  I hope I'm wrong.

    •  You are right to be wary...the amendments need to (0+ / 0-)

be understood anything that George Bush and Repbulicans are willing to settle for will not be good and will include some form of total immunity for telecommunication compaines even if we cannot see it at the time.

If Repbulicans want to vote on a bill....we know it is not good.
Better to do no voting on this and take up revising FISA later, than vote on something the Repbulicans are OK with.
