Someone trading on family connections supports someone trading on family connections.

Shocker. Dog bites man. Film won't be at eleven.

No one made Doug write this.

      •  If you mean... (0+ / 0-)

Patrick "Never did anything in Congress but pop pills" Kennedy, yep. Classic case of incompetence rising on a last name.

But I reserve my real loathing for all the idiots who enable this. We live in a Republic, yet folks piss away  this amazing gift from the Founders by creating de-facto Nobility with their votes. Bayh son of Bayh, Ford son of Ford, Clinton wife of Clinton. In 2036, some idiot will be rooting Clinton, daughter of Clinton and Clinton.

A lot of people died to free us of rule by bloodline, and the idiots just vote in bloodlines.

        •  "Amazing gift"?!? (0+ / 0-)

Dude, the Founding Fathers were landed gentry themselves. They were de-facto Nobility, many complete with de-facto serfs (both black and white).

If the Revolutionary War was fought to free us of rule of bloodlines, how do you explain the Adams' following so closely after the Revolution?

Nah. The Revolutionary War was fought to free the American aristocracy of English taxation and merchantilist trade policies. How convenient that those ideal persist to this day in the form of anti-tax campaigns and "free trade" policies.
