The Clinton presidency was a disappointment on so many fronts that I think it's a little obnoxious to pre-emtively talk about Obama being a disappointment.  We've had eight years of Clinton "triangulation," and the result is "Republican-lite" in the form of NAFTA, welfare reform sans educational opportunities, a reactionary and cowardly "air-war" against Serbia, and so on.

Clinton is the very embodiment of disappointment, and I think it's only wise to take our chances with Obama.  He brings no guarentee of a progressive future, but we already have a guarentee from Mrs. Clinton that she'll be a president who is anything but.

    •  Don't forget banking/mortgage co. deregulation (0+ / 0-)

The republicans had salivated over it since FDR, but it took a Clinton to get it done.
