  •  I'm not in love with Barack Obama. (5+ / 0-)

I'm in love with my nation. And Obama, time and again, recognizes what this is all about. Clinton continues the Republican's efforts using divisive language and politics to split the electorate into manageable and manipulable and predictable 50+1 blocs. Obama's language is designed to bring us back together.

I'm in love with this whole political process, and Obama is the best thing to happen since... Reagan (if you're a conservative, ha!). I'm a little less clear on who our comparative figure would be; a Democrat who brought new people to see things the way we see them.

The funny thing is, I think both Democrats and Republicans are recognizing the same thing I have about Obama. I think that's why we see pundits on MSM, time and again, lose themselves in the rhetoric of Barack Obama. Many forget that these people we see on television are Americans just like us. They're part of the process, and they're falling behind Obama as fast as the rest of the nation. Changing minds is the game Democrats have to play to win elections in this country. Barack Obama appears to be doing just that.

Do we participate in a politics of cynicism or a politics of hope?
