where would another one come from? They are going to be running their own precincts.  I was told to simply walk up and grab the gavel when I walk in, and call the meeting to order if there is no chair elected there, and if there is no one at the front, which I imagine would be the case.

Obama's campaign intends to run these caucus where they're open, which most are especially in republican areas.

Obama leads in votes, states, pledged delegates and small donors... Hillary leads in party insiders and people not paying attention

multiple precincts caucus at the same location. if there is no elected precinct chair, usually what will happen is that you guys will wait for the other precinct to finish up their caucus and their precinct chair will begin your caucus. then, like i said, the first thing you do is elect a precinct chair, and that's when you grab the gavel and take over.

now, there are definitely exceptions.  if you get trained on how to run your caucus, by all means, grab the gavel right away. i'm just trying to emphasise that there is a backup process in place if there is no elected chair for your precinct.

I'm so very ready to wrap my brain around this.  I hope I can get a good turnout in my precinct.  I've never done this before...

But, we learn by doing, right? :)

that i am not advising you to not grab the gavel if you can.  =)

in fact, that is the plan for most of the precincts up here: try to run the show if we can.
