  •  About our brief (9+ / 0-)

I am very excited about filing this brief today and wanted to make sure you all knew.  We have taken a thoughtful approach to this issue.  Also, I actually know a lot about the Civilian Marksmanship Program.  Back in the 90s, I was appointed by the Secretary of Army to assist in the transition of that program to civilian control through a new private non-profit corporation.

    •  This is interesting. (3+ / 0-)

Gonna have to delve deeper into this, you bring up a few things I'd not heard of before.
I am a responsible gun owner who maintains (not many, but enough) weapons strictly for the purpose of home defense, and who, like you seem to be, is not enamored of, nor a member of, the NRA.
I do communicate with these folks, though, even though I don't necessarily agree with every nuance of every policy position they have, I find that can talk to them.
Note that they are affiliated with the CMP.

    •  Where does your funding come from? (0+ / 0-)

The NRA's comes mostly from individual gun owners in small contributions.
