  •  Sure - coming in to the USA (6+ / 0-)

is difficult unless you are a Canadian Citizen.  We just renewed my son's passport at the Toronto consulate (where you need to go to get a visa to visit the US).

There was a line of about 50 people outside, then a wait of about 2 hours once people actually got inside.  For the passport renewal, it was quick, but the visa process seems ridiculous.

    •  Still not getting it. (0+ / 0-)

Who has a hard time entering the US from Canada ?

( I live on the border, and spend a lot of time in Canada )

Student visas ? Working visas ?  Visa Waiver Nations ?

I know things are needlessly complex (in BOTH nations !),
but I still don't understand what you're asserting. Sorry.

US or Canadian citizen, or on the Visa Waiver list, you need to go through a VERY difficult process to get a visa.
