of Petaluma, a big develpment of a new glossy Auto Mall for the dealers went in(in a flood plain naturally).  The Auto dealers wanted a digital advertising sign three stories tall, and fought for it with all their might.  Woolsey finally went with the majority of the City Council and voted for it just out of the expediency of getting the thing done with. The auto dealers contributed to her first campaign for congress -unless they really hated her for not coming aboard right away.

This was a political fight that went on for a year and a half and seemed to divide everybody for miles around.  There are people who approve of Woolsey, but can't bring themselves to vote for her because of the goddam sign.  The thing is a monstrosity and garish as all get out as it changes and flashes new car ads on it.  It's still known as "That goddam sign of Woolsey's."
