  •  Working People Can't Take Off Tuesdays to Vote (1+ / 0-)

this "my supporters can't take off work to caucas on saturdays" is absurd. one of the worst things about American elections is fewer than 50% vote and that's largely because it's so much trouble most places to register and to vote. hard working people simply cannot afford or often are not allowed to take a day off work to go register and then a day off work to vote in a primary, and another day off work to vote in a general. saturday and sunday voting and mail-in ballots together with fewer identification restrictions are the answer and hopefully O will get this for federal elections.

years now and it works wonderfully. No lines, plenty of calm time to consider the ballot. Was sort of a nightmare at first when they still issued punchcards, but the 2000 GE took care of that! Also, turnout average has been very high since mail-in balloting began in earnest, not that we Oregonians were slouches at the polling booth before <wink>.

Ohio polls are open from 6:30 am to 8 pm. Most people can find some time in there to vote...I work full time and vote every election. And don't take the day off...

Inconceivable! You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
