  •  Same trick with "Outfoxed" party (4.00)
This sort of sabotage isn't new for the right wing. When MoveOn had the "Outfoxed" viewing parties a few weeks back, I and 160 other people signed up on the moveon.org site for a party in DC, supposedly in the party room of an apartment building, complete with a band. When I arrived, there was a crowd of people on the sidewalk and the address didn't exist.
    •  see, that's funny (1.00)
the new york thing is scary.
      •  No way (4.00)
It's not funny, and I'd say the same if it were our side doing it. There's little difference between the two cases. Sabotaging grassroots activism is wrong, regardless of how small you feel the consequences are.

People who abuse the trust of others are scum, and they're part of the reason our society is in the state it's in today.

        •  I'm sorry. (none)
          Holy negative reaction, Batman!
I certainly didn't mean to approve of the trick.  I'm afraid I laugh at lots of things that I wouldn't say or do, and I laughed at your story.  :(  I guess I was off base; I apologize.

But really, missing a movie screening is in a whole different league from being left without a place to stay in New York.  Why do you say there's little difference?
