  •  Yes, they're extemely important (16+ / 0-)

I've used them since November, when they posted the 2003 Guantanamo Standard Operating Procedures that showed that the Red Cross was kept away from many detainees, and that 4 weeks of isolation was standard for all new detainees

to enhance and exploit the disorientation and disorganization felt by a newly arrived detainee in the interrogation process. It concentrates on isolating the detainee and fostering dependence of the detainee on his interrogator.

This costitutes abusive interrogations by any standard. It even led to a concession from the Am,erican Psychological Association that participation in this isolation violates their ethics standards. For those following Valtin's and my witting on this, the APA has adamantly supporting psychologist participation in Bush's abusive interrogations, while claiming to be against "torture." [Like Bush, until recently, "torture" was something they never saw.

This is only one of a number of important materials now public thanks to Wikileaks. I list several others in my post. So, yes, Wikileaks is extremely important.
