    just curious

    •  imagine the phone system (8+ / 0-)

in the phone book your name is associated to your phone number.

so we look up smith, robert A  and get 234-555-2345

now suppose your phone number changes,  the book is updated
and your new number is inserted.

DNS is the real time service that associates your domain NAME
      with your ip NUMBER.

by ordering DNS scrubbed, directory assistance stops working.

now, if you have a cached entry, you can enter the IP NUMBER
directly,   but most people rely on DNS to resolve it.

so,  it's not an attack on the service which is the usual order for
a RIAA violation or a DCMA violation, it's an attack on DNS.

there is a DNS for .COM,  .ORG and the national domains.
