    want the IQ of W...

That just trivializes all the shit that Black people had to endure in this nations history...  But hey it's cool to have a slogan that marginalizes a race of people that have been marginalized throughout....

"Hillary isn't a minority but we have to make her cool in the eyes of the younger voter so let's make her a B*tch, and make B*tch = Black therefore Hillary is Black...."  Blackslapping ensues and Tina walks out her meeting proud of herself....

If it's a choice between War and Hope. Well then I'm going to War for Hope... I'm addicted to HOPE and Obama is my pusher

refer to any new trend as "the new black."  Because Black clothing is always fashionable and in good taste.  So calling something "black" in fashion is a complement.  Honest.  Its in wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/...

            Thanks.

After working in NYC and dressing in black everything, you'd think I'd get it.

            I am so uncool. :)

so it was cleverly devisive of all.  The whole thing sounded like something from Wonkette or Gawker.  They are very mean-spirited over there, but I know to expect that when I read their posts.  Here I want people to stick to real issues.

I didn't see real issues discussed on SNL.  Just the issue of media bias and mysogeny.  Not issues that would make me vote- like health care, the economy, who can get us out of Iraq, who can solve Social Security problems, who will address the energy crisis, who will work to address global climate change.  Media bias and mysogeny or even racism are issues for our candidates and will affect the election.  But they don't make me decide who to vote for.

              •  I just wrote this in a reply to you (0+ / 0-)

but I don't like the word bitch used in reference to a woman not even if another woman is using it as a way of 'owning' it. It just turns me off and I'm a woman..and perhaps, that's why.

I think it was very clever devisive skit that is equally offensive.  But I did think it was clever and funny.  But I have learned that humor is a weapon- question arises who is cut more by this whole thing.  Was it Obama, belittled for becoming a popular figure and now being portrayed as empty, while Hillary is portrayed as past it and a loser?  Who wins in this but the cynical nonvoters who say they are all politicians and they are all the same.  I think SNL and Letterman and Leno and even Jon Stewart and Colbert have something to answer for in this.  Humor is a great leveler of pretension, but too much satire and you are JibJab, just mocking for the click through and the revenue.  This is an important election.  These are important people to chose between and support.  This show mocks everyone, and that may be their job.  But as a committed voter, I think they also do a lot of harm.

        people really are thick.

Every season, there's a new "__is the new black".

Yes, I think she meant "Bitch is the new black" to be understood as a double entendre, and I don't find it funny.
