  •  But it wasn't funny, no matter who (0+ / 0-)

one supports.  The candidate stuff was just flat, as if the writers didn't know how to write.

    Wait a minute...

    •  The writing was fine (0+ / 0-)

The premise wasn't genius, but it was adequate.

Fred Armston can't do Sen Obama's voice.  That's not intended as a slap.  If your voice can't reach the lower register, it can't reach the lower register.  That is probably the biggest reason the opener was one of the weaker sketches all night.  It was still funny.

Jack Benny didn't have the most legendary material of all time.  He's stingy.  He's vain. (39 years old.) He doesn't realize he is a lousy violin player.  He ran with those jokes for a half-century. Funny is funny.

People who tuned in to SNL to find laughs were not dissapointed.  Those that sought political validation, maybe not so much.

      •  Right because as a socialist (0+ / 0-)

I expect to find political validation in SNL/GE and in an unabashed neoliberal like Obama.

        Project elsewhere.
