Hillary Clinton should've, at least, done better than a double-digit (nearly twenty point) loss to Obama (Hillary Clinton had a lot of institutional support and this "caucus" was a lot closer to New Mexico's style of caucus than Iowa's).

    •  Okay, that's one. (0+ / 0-)

Although it depends on your interpretation of "going into". Hell, if you go back to February of 2006, Obama was polling at zero percent. The last Maine poll I saw was from October of 2007, and it showed Hillary with a commanding 36 point lead over Barack.

Of course, 35 percent were undecided.

      •  I'd also point out that the margins are important (1+ / 0-)

For example: Virginia: Obama was ahead by 17.7% but won by 28.2% (a 10.5% jump); Wisconsin: Obama was ahead by 4.3%; he won by 17.4% (a 13.1% jump).

The polls have been understating his numbers, that he was leading in these states anyways doesn't take away from the fact that this polling was grossly underestimated.

I was responding to the comment that said Hillary was leading going into those primaries, which she wasn't.
