    The relevant international law on asylum is not particularly unclear under these circumstances.  This person has a solid claim of potential persecution and even death. If the UK Foreign Office deports him to Iran, they will be betting the farm, and it will be a horrendous scandal. While the Dutch decision is overly technocratic, the UK should do the right thing.  

    If they choose not to, Mr. Kazemi should file immediately at the European Court of Human Rights and ask for injunctive relief.  While the European Court grants this relief sparingly, they do act quickly when persecution or death may be involved.  Mr. Kazemi should consult immediately, if he has not already, with reputable UK human rights groups, like the AIRE Centre.

      ... that with all the attention this case has gotten, some lawyer(s) who knows what they're doing will contact the person in danger of being deported and offer his or her services pro buono.  You never know, though...
