I'm more than willing to listen, though I probably shouldn't be to a person that calls people racist with not a shred of evidence to support such a claim.

willfully disingenuous.  The comment referred to Senator Clinton, not you.

And if you don't think there is any evidence to support a claim of racism  emanating from the Clinton campaign and its surrogates, your're being willfully blind.

It's one thing to disagree that racism is what is at work but quite another to say there's no evidence to support such a claim is ludicrous.

Why won't Clinton release the tax returns? What's she hiding?

    •  It's getting so hard to tell what with you HRC (3+ / 0-)

supporters defending racist speech and all, how can you blame me for assuming that someone who defends Ferraro's comments is a racist?  Really, explain to me the moral/ethical voting mechanism that leads you to continue to support HRC's campaign.

I've carried water for the Clintons for too long to let them betray me.  You see, the Clintons aren't owed a single thing by the Democratic voters.  They owe US everything, and they've ruined it.

As far as which is unsubstantiated, well, that's the majority of your hit diary.  Tell you what, you pick a couple pieces and support them.

      •  I'm not defending racist speech.. (0+ / 0-)

...but I do think the racist card is being played without much substance to back it up in many cases. And mostly by white people that wouldn't know actual racism if it hit them in the eye.

Mary Frances Berry, a long time civil rights leader, does not believe the Clinton's are racist, and I think it's absurd to claim they are myself. There just isn't a shred of evidence to support that. I think my diary makes clear why I support Clinton over Obama. What else do you need to know?

As for Ferraro, I don't know what she was thinking, nor whether she is a racist. At best her comments were inelegant, to be sure. I wouldn't defend her comments, but I suspect she is speaking to the media fawning over him that has gotten quite ridiculous at this point.

His resume is one of the thinnest we have seen from a candidate for president that has made it this far. You could attribute the media fawning to his ability to make a good speech. You could also attribute it to the fact that the media is vested in an America Idol style race between the first viable black candidate and the first viable woman candidate.

I tend to think that has played at least a part in the fawning media coverage. He's a novelty, as is she. I don't think it's sexist or racist to suggest that. But then I am quite cynical about the role the media plays in politics. If they can sell people a war and fake WMD they can sell anything, it seems.

    •  btw, I'm not the person at the beginning of (0+ / 0-)

the thread who called you racist, although, as I point out in my other comment, it's hard to tell these days.

You should calm down, slow down, and realize which commenter you're addressing.
