  •  My prediction. (0+ / 0-)

Obama will start attending a different church soon.

    •  If so, he will lose a lot of people's respect (1+ / 0-)

He knew a long time ago that the things his soon-to-be-former pastor said were impolitic, to put it mildly. If he waits until now, in the heat of a presidential campaign, to walk in apparent protest of said remarks, it will make him look like a -- um -- triangulator. And I believe we already have a candidate working that side of the street.

Electing conservatives is like hiring a carpenter who thinks hammers are evil.

      •  Not if he does so like Moses did. (0+ / 0-)

He'll do it with panache,-- like Moses. He throws the tablets at the rabble-rousers, whatever their ethnic background.

His message, after all, is that we are all Americans before we are members of any tribe. What better way to make that point?

        •  I don't think he has to do anything. (1+ / 0-)

Beyond defend himself against this and keep on doing what he is doing. Express disagreement where necessary, talk about the good things that Wright has done, and move on. The problem here is that the media is following a double standard here. You don't hear them talking about The Fellowship, for instance.
