To be honest about it for collecting money from one set of pockets (individiuals and employers) and distributing it to a bunch of other pockets (hospitals, doctors, etc.), the insurance companies take (?earn?) $500 billion off the top of the insurance premiums paid. This is equivalent of the total nonIraq budget of the pentagon and if used for medical services should surely pay for Medicare for all. In addition, this leaves 47 million people out in the cold. It is very disappointing that both Clinton and Obama call for reform by proposing universal buying into(subsidizing)the private insurance system. When will they have the courage to see the error of their policies?
